Catholic Migration Services (CMS) hosted its first annual Sunset with CMS reception on Thursday, June 25 at the Pierrepont House in Downtown Brooklyn. In the presence of many old friends and new faces, CMS explained the different programs available to immigrants in Brooklyn and Queens and how everyone can get involved.
A memorable moment of the night was hearing the words of Adolfo Ordonez, an immigrant client who needed the services of CMS when his employer was withholding his wages. Adolfo expressed his gratitude to CMS as well as to CMS staff attorney, Alice Davis. Fr. Patrick Keating, CEO of CMS, closed the program by thanking all those in attendance, “Our job is never done at Catholic Migration Services, but thanks to supporters like you, we can continue to provide resources to the stranger in our midst.”
