Johanna Geoghan Magovern is a retired corporate attorney. She previously worked as an associate at the law firm of Pennie and Edmonds in New York, NY and then as Assistant Trademark Counsel for The Seagram Beverage Company. Magovern managed all aspects of securing and protecting global trademark portfolios, including structuring and negotiating trademark licenses and assignment agreements. She also focused on corporate transactional work taking the lead on the intellectual property aspects of audits, due diligence reviews and definitive agreements.
Since retiring, Magovern has dedicated her time and resources to philanthropic causes, with a special interest in development and imaginative fundraising. She is a past board member of the Overlook Hospital Auxiliary Foundation and is the founder and past Board Chair of the Liberty Science Center’s Women’s Leadership Council. She has also been a member of the Alumni Board and Parent’s Association Board (including President) for the Oak Knoll School of the Holy Child. She has been an active volunteer for local community causes through The Junior Fortnightly Club, The Christ Child Society and Family Promise.
Magovern graduated Magna Cum Laude from Fordham University, where she also received her law degree. She lives in Summit, New Jersey with her husband Chris and their three children.
