Catholic Foundation Easter Appeal: Help Those in Need

by Nicholas J. Vendikos, KHS

Director of Development

As I write this, the Season of Lent fast approaches, and with Easter soon upon us, I write with prayer and hope for renewal.

It is my wish that during this time you will remember in your almsgiving all those individuals who are supported by the Catholic Foundation for Brooklyn and Queens – elderly priests, youngsters, immigrants and the poor, as well as important initiatives that we support like Youth Evangelization, Catholic Migration Services and Catholic Communications to name just a few.

Especially during these uncertain times, there are many worthy causes. Through our fundraising efforts we will continue to support the underserved, the marginalized and those all too often forgotten about in society for generations to come. Your generosity is vital for the continued success of Catholic Church programs throughout the Diocese of Brooklyn.

Your support, compassion and generosity will mean the difference in a person’s life and provide much needed funding for a variety of programs throughout Brooklyn and Queens.

Imagine if The Tablet or NET TV didn’t exist or after the sacrament of Confirmation, youngsters would not be able to get involved in the life of the Church? Imagine if our nation of immigrants didn’t have the Catholic Church welcoming the stranger among us into our communities?

I ask that you please support our programs with a gift at this time as the Catholic Foundation continues it’s fundraising to provide for the programs that are synonymous with our Church.

As Msgr. Jamie Gigantiello, Vicar for Development in the Diocese of Brooklyn often states, it is our hope that you will also be a messenger for the Catholic Foundation and let your family, friends and colleagues know about the foundation. Only through increased awareness will we be able to fulfill our goals of providing funding for Youth Evangelization, Catholic Migration Services and Catholic Communications.

By contributing your Easter gift now, your commitment demonstrates that the work done by the Catholic Church will continue to shape generations that follow. The Catholic Foundation tries to make giving extremely easy so you can mail your check (payable to the “Catholic Foundation for Brooklyn and Queens”), or visit our secure website athttp://www.catholicfoundationbq.org and click on “Donate.”

In closing, if you are interested in joining our Fons Vitae Society through a planned gift to the Catholic Foundation, please do not hesitate to call me at 718-965-7300 ext. 1624. These gifts of a lifetime make a major impact on those we serve.

Thank you for your support of the Catholic Foundation and I wish you and your family a blessed Easter!
