From Msgr. Jamie Gigantiello- June, 2015

Dear Friends in Christ:

At the conclusion of the Easter season, we celebrated the great Feast of Pentecost. Pentecost is the feast of the Holy Spirit and the anniversary of the founding of the Church, as the disciples were commissioned to go forth and spread the Good News. Just as the disciples of Jesus two thousand years ago, we too are sent forth today with the gifts of the Holy Spirit to go out and proclaim the Good News. The Holy Spirit continues to live in the Church through the generations and guide us back to the central focus of the Church, Christ.

Catholic Foundation for Brooklyn and Queens takes its mission to support the work of the Church seriously, while we spread the Good News in Brooklyn and Queens through our many endowments and grant programs. Our newest endeavor to assist the Church in our Diocese is the Generations of Faith capital campaign. Through the collaboration of Catholic Foundation and Community Counseling Partners, we hope to raise over $80 million in Brooklyn and Queens to assist our retiring priests, bolster our Youth Evangelization initiative and make capital improvements to parishes in our Diocese. Because of your generous support, we have already raised $30 million in only our pilot phase of the campaign and expect to continue to build on that success until we reach our goal.

We are hopeful that this generation will stand with us in the vineyard of the Lord to provide for the generation which preceded us and the one that will follow through your generosity to our efforts, for this we are forever grateful!

Thank you, supporters of Catholic Foundation for Brooklyn and Queens, for being committed to the mission of providing the resources needed by the Church to minister to all in Brooklyn and Queens. Your driving spirit has assisted us over the past years in being able to achieve the goals set before us while surpassing those accomplished in years prior.

I once again thank you and please know that you will be remembered in my prayers – please remember me in yours!

In Christ’s Peace,

Rev. Monsignor Jamie J. Gigantiello
