New Developments: Welcome to CFBQ

By Nick Vendikos, KHS — Director of Development

Welcome to the first installment of my monthly column, New Developments!

I hope you will take this opportunity to spread the word to your family, friends and colleagues about the Catholic Foundation for Brooklyn and Queens (CFBQ). Formerly known as the Alive In Hope Foundation, we are the fundraising arm of the Brooklyn Diocese. The time has arrived where we now must shout from the rooftops and Internet (!!) the tremendous number of grants CFBQ has provided since its inception.

While our previous site served us well, I know you will enjoy this one even more. It is user-friendly — for us that means you can easily navigate the pages and find out about the Foundation, and the people, programs and institutions we serve. So if you wish to start an endowment, contribute t programs which support Catholic Youth Ministry, Catholic Migration Services, Senior Priests or our Church to name just a small few, you have visited the right place.

In the weeks and months to follow, we will highlight programs and individuals who, thanks to your generosity, have benefited from an opportunity – one in which only your benevolence can provide. We need your continued support and your help in stating our case. That being said, you have now been “deputized” on behalf of CFBQ … so help us get at it!

Since fundraising is in my blood and collectively at CFBQ, our passion, you have the opportunity to give on-line whenever and how often the mood strikes you! Please just click on this link www.cfbq.org. You can also learn about our planned giving program, the Fons Vitae Society, as well as how to become a corporate sponsor or a benefactor to one of our many endowments … or start your own.

I hope you take the time to explore Catholic Foundation for Brooklyn and Queens, and please feel free to contact me with any questions and input at NVendikos@cfbq.org or at 718-965-7300 ext. 1624.

Enjoy the summer and God Bless!
