We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Brendan J. Dugan on Sunday, December 18, 2016, a longtime supporter of the Diocese of Brooklyn. Brendan is survived by his wife Barbara, his sons Joseph (Stephanie), Michael and Patrick (Christina), and his six grandchildren Brendan, Ryan, William, Helena, Colin and Mary. He is also survived by his sister Patricia Curtin and brother Brian.
As President of St. Francis College, Brendan never lost sight of the deep Franciscan tradition and roots of the College. Brendan was proud to continue the tradition of instilling the Franciscan values of faith, hope, humility, love, caring, hospitality, peace and most importantly, service, in his students.
A longtime Futures in Education Board of Trustee and 2016 Bishop’s Christmas Luncheon Honoree, Brendan took great pride in his Brooklyn-born roots. As a pillar of the Catholic community, he dedicated himself to ensuring the availability of Catholic education to under-served students in Brooklyn and Queens through his personal work with the Diocese of Brooklyn and Futures in Education.
