The Ninth Annual Bishop’s Christmas Luncheon, which took place on December 9th at Russo’s On The Bay in Howard Beach, was an overwhelming success! The event raised nearly $700,000 (including money contributed from matching scholarship funds) which will benefit the Bishop’s Scholarship Fund and Youth Evangelization.

This year’s honorees were five distinguished individuals who are pillars in our community and lead by examples of their faith: Reverend Monsignor David Cassato, recipient of the St. John Paul II Distinguished Stewardship Award; John and Jeanette Walton, recipients of the Emma A. Daniels Benefactor’s Award; and Gina and Anthony Argento, Spirit of Hope Award honorees. The Catholic Foundation thanks all of our honorees for their service and dedication to the Diocese of Brooklyn.

We extend special thanks to Juliet Papa from 1010 WINS for being the event’s gracious and wonderful emcee, and to the students of St. Athanasius School in Bensonhurst for their Nativity scene performance. Their presence truly made it a day to remember.

As we continue to celebrate Advent and the coming of Christmas, we count your genuine belief and commitment to the students and parishes of Brooklyn and Queens among our greatest blessings. Your faith and continuous support of the Catholic Foundation will help the Diocese of Brooklyn continue to serve as a beacon of light in our community.

Thank you to everyone who attended and continues to support the Catholic Foundation for Brooklyn and Queens.
